In 2019, the import quantity of kraft paper in China was 1.61 million tons, while the export quantity was only 66000 tons.

The import amount of kraft paper from China in 2019 was 1.042 billion US dollars, a decrease of 224 million US dollars compared to the import amount in 2018.

From the perspective of cost, the spot market price of imported wood pulp has been under pressure recently. As pessimism dominates the market, pulp prices continue to be under pressure. From a supply perspective, some large-scale paper companies have not had any downtime maintenance plans since the Spring Festival, and inventory is still at a high level. The situation of de inventory is not optimistic, and inventory pressure continues to increase, which still has a certain impact on the market. From a demand perspective, under the influence of global public health events, downstream terminal demand has continued to decline, and the shipment situation of paper companies and traders in various regions is poor. Some paper companies have made small concessions to promote inventory clearance.
